Description Marker is what it's made of.
First it was suposed to be a set of speakers, but then I added some improvised background. This doesn't take much time, but it requires high ...density. You feel like it was an hour, but it was only twenty minutes of real time.

Woah. Both dense and intense, with an oddly organic vibe, like a living black hole of sound pulsing out some ancient plant.  It's kinda disturbing, too.

This looks interesting. Reminds me of a friend of mine who has the same drawingstyle. Kewl stuff.

Same style? If I were Picasso I would take it as an insult. By the way, I really appreciate your valuable input into our discussion in HWL

It's a compliment, he's a good artist.
Yeah ikr, my little comments enlighten people, their lives will never be the same again.

I am sure they do. Got link to his works? I wanted to ask you, what size of paper do you use for portraits? They look small, or is it the scanner? On the other hand, there's plenty of details, which would be hard to pull out on a small sheet of paper, unless with a very hard, thin pencil.

neraksel In reply to Krazzt [2015-11-27 17:46:25 +0000 UTC]

fav.me/d41wm2o    This is the only thing of him on here. (the thumb didn't work for some reason)  He's a good artist but SO lazy He left his account for dead.
My portrets are on A4 size paper and i fill the page mostly. My pictures are so bad cause i don't have a scanner and i just take pictures with my phone or tablet
I do use a mechanical pencil for all my portrets tho, for those tiny details you can't get with a regular pencil unless you sharpen it every 5 min. Wich is a drag!

Krazzt In reply to neraksel [2015-11-27 21:59:27 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah, he's great indeed! It would make an awesome tattoo. Perhaps it not the style but the laziness that we have in common
I also used mechanical pencils because of interchangeable leads (I had my favourite 2B carbon-polymer leads, 0,5 or 0,7 mm I think) and consistent line width. I've recently got an A5 notepad with 40% cotton and "canvas" stamping as a present. And a set of classical pencils, including charcoal and sepia. Didn't draw for many years, so we'll see what I shall do with that. The bumpy surface does not allow much detail. On A5 It would probably be possible to draw just one detail, e.g. a huge eye from some photo reference. Or lips. Yeah. Series of lips is a great idea! Got any pics of nice lips?

neraksel In reply to Krazzt [2015-11-28 07:24:16 +0000 UTC]

I think i could manage a full portret on A5. Never tried it.
I think eyes are more interesting to draw then lips, But hey, go for it. Google images must have thousands of them

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Krazzt In reply to neraksel [2015-11-30 07:29:35 +0000 UTC]

Not exactly what I had in mind. Agree with you on eyes, but up to a point. Eyes are fascinating in their own way, but they are for seeing, and lips are for touching. Of course one can argue that it is possible to touch someone with your gaze, but even if that was possible, you would see thousands of strangers every day and still offer your lips to only one person (if any). I'd love to draw eyes, but this time I want more sensuality and more physical intimacy. You know, later on I intend to show my notebook personally, to a very limited audience, in an irresistibly seductive manner...
Hope you understand now, that I won't just google for images of lips. Not gonna waste my time for something I don't find personally fascinating or something that was already seen by thousands of people. I'm still figuring out where to get my lips from

The quality of the line is gorgeous! There is something about painting fast that puts in a lot of emotion to every trace through pressure.
I would suggest a soft underlying sketch with a slight longer observation time than 20 min, since a strong base structure would allow the organic figures to have a deeper contrast with the inorganic ones. This I'm saying, is due to the eye-circle thing at the top, which gives the sensation of melting above the rest. And since it's a circle like the speakers, it looks a little odd. Mainly a concept thing than a technical one.
In anyway you decide to work in the future, don't ever loose the capability of printing your thoughts through the pen(markers) pressure... That is a rare gift, a really wonderful one.

Sorry for late reply, but thanks for a nice comment!
I actually managed to draw something today...
So your advice turned out to be really motivating and I will definitely put it into use if I have the chance.
By the way, I admit there was no advanced concept behind this drawing, it was simply inspired by speakers, cables and electronic music.

ccornils In reply to Krazzt [2013-06-24 05:01:13 +0000 UTC]

oh That's great! I hope you may have that chance soon.

Btw I didn't mean the concept needs to be complicated, many great things are born from even the simplest ideas. Just that some details can deviate from the main feeling and it's good to be aware of how they can affect the picture, giving you a huger arsenal to approach the next challenge.

This reminds me of the man who paints such realistic things on sidewalks that people actual avoid walking over his painting of a broken sidewalk, a fountain with statues inside, afraid of falling in or something. : P it's just very realistic to me, and seem more deep and maybe hole-like.

I've seen this kind of sidewalk art before. It's great stuff. Thought you might like to check it out.

This piece is really nice. There's something classical about it. I guess it's in the way you made wuick and light marks around the edges. The contrast and depth is great, and I like the organic symmetry it has. Very nice indeed.

You're welcome and thank you. I try to keep my comments short and to the point. Many times I'm repetitive, but I do try to let the artist know what elements I enjoy. I'm also lucky because I have a super fast computer connection and type at warp speed.
