Description Second photograph from the "Freedom In Black And White" series I made with ~FeA-OLoReA , which will be soon available as a whole on Aenemya.com .

Remember, I'm completely new to film photography. I used a black and white film (400 ISO) with my Nikon FM2. We spent about two hours and a half on that desert and cold shore that day... Cheeks became red and hands frozen, but memories still lie beneath our hearts. Despite this, we had a terrific time. We were completely free to jump to the sky and to trace hopes in the sand, to dance until there was no strength left in our bodies, until our souls were fulfilled. Sea and us promised to meet again, one day.

The funny thing about this one, is that strange white lines which appear on the left, as well as that kind of ... negative?! at the bottom. I swear I didn't manipulate anything, didn't add any brush or something. I can't understand how this happened. It makes me feel so good to use different medias to express my genetic loneliness. Photography is awesome and makes me feel something special which digital art doesn't. I like how technical imperfection fits that afternoon's emotional perfection...

This is a great photo. It looks like it could be a cool weird conceptual black and white french film or something. I like the unintentional lines along with the wind swept skirt. Great contrast between the black boots and white skirt. Awesome job.

i really love this, especially because of the line and crack - and the footsteps!

seriously, it looks as if the lab fucked up your negatives, you'll probably find those lines and cracks all over the film...
no matter what the circumstances were: you pay a lot of money to the lab so they should be able to simply do their work.
but you already came to the right conclusion about this: develop your films on your own!
it's a pain in the ass and a science itself but definitely worth the effort once you found out how to do it
and it feels so good to have complete control over every single aspect of an image or to see the final print appear on paper...

the lines come from the developing of the film itself. it wasn`t made perfectly and wasn`t cleaned at all afterwards. but you should be glad about it at the moment, cause its fits to your picture again. you can easily remove the white line by breathing at the film and polishing it afterwards with a simple tissue (if you want to).
i really like the composition in this one much more than the first one. you can even feel the cold breeze gliding through the skirt. also the lightning/exposure is ok again.
the next time i would care about the details a bit more. i think if you hadn`t had those additional footsteps on the left of the picture, it would much more fit the "lonely" atmosphere.
which film exactly did you use?

I used a Kodak B&W film, 400 ISO. I'll check the lines on the negative; but I have the feeling that the labo messed the developping part, it took almost three weeks instead of one, and the Kodak labo has been firing a lot of people I think around here, so maybe they were in a hurry and didn't make it as well as they could have. I'm very disappointed by how some photographs, which I just didn't scan, were developped in that dull, greyish way, although others have that strong contrast. One of my wishes is to learn how to develop my own films, so this won't happen anymore. It was expensive enough, and wasn't perfect. Anyway, you're right about the footsteps. I'm too new to photograph to think of everything, but it will come, because I'm a damn perfectionist. In this case, I thought, afterwards, that the footsteps could evoke a kind of presence, you don't know if that's the model's footsteps of someone else's. But maybe I have too much imagination? Or try to reasurre myself my photographs are not that bad?

Thank you so much for everything

oh well, if you want more contrast you should think about underexposure your photographs all one aperture. most cameras have the option, that they make this automatically, if you`re set it right. after shooting the film you have to say to the developing labor, that they have to push your film to 800 (on a iso 400 film) or 400 (on a iso 200 film) for example, also simply called push +1 (pull is the opposite). yeah, you can actually get a lot out of developing it yourself, also cause you can use different developing chemicals.

my pleasure hon and keep it on!

cool, I really like the contrast between the black boots and white dress/skirt. White line is a little wierd though, don't know if your going for that worn photograph look or not.

Et puis, je trouve qu'elle y donne du charme à ta photographie, cette ligne blanche.

Keep up the great work, ma chère amie. J'ai hâte de voir la suite de la série!

Ya the white line is kinda weird. The other thing to the left of it looks like a ghost orb. A very good idea to use black boots rather than white. it makes it stand out more, especially since it's to side, rather than in the middle.
