Description The name says it all really. A girl wearing what I would consider 'classy rubber'. I sketched the pic, then had a cuppa tea followed by a sandwich or 5, followed it up with about 15 hours of pain driven colouring in Corel's amazing Painter program. Then after a few beers and about 10 packs of ciggerets I made the tree in 3DS max with a toon render.

Excellent costume design and anatomy! I like how there are a lot of small, detailed items in the image (like the belts on her leg) that give the viewer something interesting to look at everywhere in the picture, but small enough that they don't distract from the main subject. Great work!

Appologies for that. I think the new one is a lot more subtle.

Thank you very much! I actually dont use any pens in my work. The lines are direct from pencil and I just do a little clean up before colouring.
I'm thinking maybe I should use pens to make the lines stand out more but i'm worried that it wll take away the naturalness (if thats a word) of the pencil line.

Hrmm. That makes perfect sense. I usually use pen over my pencil lines...thats why the look so chunky and dark I'm guessing. 0.o; I've been trying to figure out how to get crisp, thin lines (like yours) for a while now. I'll have to try just scaning the pencil in then. Thanks muchly!!!

No problem. Make sure you use a light pencil (I always use 4H) to sketch, then use a dark one to go over the line, I use HB. When you have scanned the pic change the picture to Greyscale and turn up the contrast and brightness abit and this should help the lines stand out a little more. Then clean unwanted lines.

Thank you so very much!!! ^.^ You're so kind! Oh, and I have one more question...do you ever use Photoshop to color?

No I use a program called 'Painter' It's made by a company called Corel not to be confused with Coral. It's an artists dream. It has every art tool you can imagine and makes your work looks as if it was painted rather than computer coloured. Always a pleasure to help. Message me if you need to know anything else.

I'd say that for the various hours you spent on this, and the sandwiches eaten -not to forget the tea, and then of course the numerous beers and packes of smokes, you did a great job.
Good work.
