Description Special thanks to jaromcswenson for designing and drawing this commission pic based on my general ideas and thoughts and putting them into image form. The 1st profile pic is meant to be the most basic model and gives visual references for comparing future related mecha pics, plus showing the general/common pilot control+cockpit design or setup commonly used in this type of mini-mecha within my world setting. This 2nd profile pic shows a standard "Assault Kit" for general fighting, like the mini-mecha equivalent of a standard soldier's combat kit. 



Right Forearm Weapons: General theme/analogy is the "rifle and grenade launcher" weapon combo, scaled to mini-mecha sizes 

(i) An autocannon (ranging from 20mm to 25mm models depending on users) is mounted on the forearm portion facing outwards away from the torso. The ammo drum for the autocannon is located on the top of the forearm. 

(ii) A larger-capacity 40mm grenade launcher pod is mounted under the forearm. 



Left Forearm Weapon(s):

Serves as a shield arm like in the 1st profile pic , only the forearm-mounted spiked shield is more sophisticated, with a built-in, piledriver weapon for both melee combat and for breaching walls and fixed fortifications/structures.



Extra Accessories/Equipment/Weapons mounted on the head, shoulders and/or back:

  • The head sensor turret for the standard "Assault Kit" is armed with a single 7.62mm LMG. It has two main modes/functions. 
    • The Manual Mode is when the turret is keyed to the pilots' helmet movements. 
    • The Automatic Mode allows the armed sensor turret to function as an automated CIWS turret against incoming threats, especially from the air (like drones or missiles) and higher elevation (like threats from the upper floors in urban environments). During Automatic Mode, the pilot would use the secondary visual mode function, i.e. viewing most of the frontal arcs with some rear-viewing side screens with the torso front/rear sensors and cameras.
  • The Colossus has active/passive sensors to detect incoming threats and are keyed with the smoke grenade launchers and head CIWS turret. They also alert the pilot and trigger other defensive features that might be relevant to both mini-mechas.
  • Any disposable launchers for RPGs, AT rockets or ATGMs are situated in the back of the torso. The mount(s) for those launchers have limited traverse and elevation ability so that the pilots could make minute aiming adjustments with their helmet-mounted sights besides moving their mech's torso. 



New Extra Details:

  • The middle portion of the front plate (where the chest camera is located) is the main pilot's hatch. 
  • The top hatch is a secondary hatch to allow an exit if the mini-mecha is laying on its front (thus, blocking/jamming the main hatch). This also allows for a higher vantage point out of the mini-mecha, like those scenes in fiction where the pilot is standing/sitting on the mecha's shoulders to look at the distance or sky, or like how tank crews would sometimes sit/stand on the tops of their tank turrets for a higher vantage point.
