Holly with Andreesen the Dragonite & Fawcett the Togekiss against *DontEatRazorBlades ' Anita with Pippin the Marowak & Luna the Vileplume.
Alternate Title: 'Let's not kill anyone today and instead fight about who wore it better!'

Yeah so much for I'm not going to do this painting style again, it's too much woooooork D:
Now I'm pretty much doomed to use it for R10 as well.

1 - Luna uses Solar Beam and Pippin uses Earthquake to redesign the arena a little so that his partners have a better view of the flying opponents or something.
2 - The hat is toast. If you celebrate now, I won't be offended. Too bad I'm still stuck at R5 with my plot and will have to draw it again many times.
3 - Andreesen uses Fly on Luna.
4 - Fawcett uses Air Slash. Pippin dodges and uses Bonemerang. Because fuck you, game mechanics. A bone can hit a flying PokΓ©mon just like a rock.
It's not as cool as the previous one, but look, I drew the stadium again. Two times. Can I have a hug?

Maaaan I just read through all of your NOCT comics... eagerly waiting for the next one!!

Just a question though: This looks really, really interesting and fun and I saw a lot of other people also doing this. I was wondering if you knew if it isn't too late for other people to join in on the fun?Β

Glad you enjoy this series! The next one will be very soon, since I actually churn them out quickly with the lowered quality level. xD

It was an almost year long tournament that ends next month. But the group considers to hold another, shorter one next year because many people asked. Read the journals of , and you won't miss it.

The other person forfeited. If she had told me that in advance, I would only have drawn the first panel and not wasted 10 hours of my life.

Thank youuuuu!

I have a feeling nobody has told them that it's a fashion contest. Someone is going to die for nothing.

This is so awesome!

The whole layout is incredible and the last panel of Fawcett sky diving Pippin is awesome!

Eeeeeee thank you!
Flying PokΓ©mon are the best, they create so many possibilites for the layout. It was awesome to have both of them in one battle.

...Did you just kill Holly's hat?

I love this painting thing that you're doing. It looks so amazing and cool and it gives the picture a sort of softer but more amazing feel. This is hard to explain. ._.

Also loving the rocks used as panel breaks and the Solarbeam and the Air Slash and omg this is too good. :'D

Yes, I did. And now I'm kinda sad too, even though I hated it..? There isn't much story after this round, though, so it won't be missed for too long. And maybe it will become Hat Jesus. //shot

Can you believe this is all done with the standard hard round brush? :'D I read a tutorial thing a few weeks ago and it changed my life. It simply said how easily you can make things that are gradient-y and texture-y at the same time, and if you use the soft brush everything goes to hell.

Panel breaks with effort! Move effects with a bit of effort! Thank youuuuu!

JESUS HAT MUST HAPPEN NOW. THE STITCHING WILL RISE. WE WILL SEW FOR OUR SINS.

But it looks soft what kind of sorcery made the hard brush soft and the soft brush hellish. I must know these answers. ._.

You're welcome!

Krisantyne In reply to NikkyDash [2013-09-30 11:34:56 +0000 UTC]

BUT SEWING IS ALMOST AS UNPLEASANT AS REPENTING. It's more productive, though...

The answer to the hard brush is blending. It's a whole lot of work, but not nearly as much as it sounds. When the colors suddenly turn smooth in front of your eyes after just a few strokes, it's a magical feeling.
And the soft brush is bad because you don't see any strokes and the painting looks too smooth. The eye needs a bit of texture to get interested.

Once again, you have a lovely entry. I didn't even realize they wore the same outfit until you sorta said so in your author notes. And then it all clicked. Nice!

Thank you! Yeah, maybe I should have checked the other applications more closely before deciding on Holly's colors. Under these circumstances, this match just had to happen one day. :'D
