Description This is for BBC #33, The Final Makuta. I drew heavily from General Greivous for his design, from the shoulders to the weapons and the stance. This is the unedited version of the pic, I'm going to have an edited version up soon that looks a lot cooler.

Thanks! I'm still quite proud of this, even four years later. I've been thinking about rebuilding it when I get the chance, actually.

Revamps are always the most fun.

Wow...Cool swords! I must admit, this is a very imaginative Makuta design!

Thanks! It was actually just a conglomeration of several separate ideas I had had for building.

Really?

Yeah. The head was something I had been trying to find a use for, the shoulders were an attempt at a double-shoulder design like General Grievous had in Star Wars, the body was just a table scrap I had had lying around, the waist was a simple attempt at making an articulated waist that didn't suffer from "the pinch", and the legs were a slightly modified form of a design that I had been trying to make work for a while.

I see. What's "the pinch"?

With most LEGO creations, building it with an articulated waist means that you have to leave room for the balljoint to move, so you end up with either a very narrow waist, a very wide waist, or virtually no articulation. (The wide waist is to hide the joint)

Oh. So that's "the pinch".

KrisLyssara In reply to Man-Boy [2006-12-06 22:22:30 +0000 UTC]

Same way I build all my models. A lot of time, a lot of parts, and a lot of patience. Oh, and a lot of ideas for different sections, such as legs, arms, shoulders, etc. that can come together into a single model. Of course, if you're looking for instructions, sorry, he was dissasembled about 7 months ago. No, more than that, come to think of it. Anyway, yeah, I didn't bother with instructions, and though I could rebuild him, he was a real pain to keep standing for any length of time.
