It's not printed and stuff yet, so not so many have seen it here at my place. But those who have seen it so far say it's nice, and people seem to like it, but I haven't gotten any really big reactions yet.

What is INRI?
π: 0 β©: 1
Krisoyo In reply to LyennaMoon [2010-12-01 15:02:55 +0000 UTC]
INRI is an acronym of the Latin inscription IESVSΒ·NAZARENVSΒ·REXΒ·IVDΓORVM which translates to English as "Jesus the Nazarene (Galilean), King of the Jews (Judeans)"

I didn't know about it myself either before I started searching for reference for this drawing.

Well, so do I.
Of course we are supposed to do good. But salvation itself is through faith alone.
Jesus did all that was needed to be done, He took away all of our sins by sacrificing Himself. We had nothing to do about that at all.

True, but it's not the work you do that decides whether you are saved or not. If that was the case we'd have to earn the grace, which we don't need to do, since Jesus has already earned it for us. Our work is the result of the grace of God.
1. cor. 15:10
"But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me."
That's my point. I'm not encouraging people to sit and be lazy. But I wanted to make an uplifting piece that reminds us Christians not to be afraid and not to worry about our own salvation, since we're already saved by Jesus.
And through my own experience I feel that the more I can stop worrying about myself, and feel the peace of Gods grace, the more I also start focusing on others.

Our works and deeds come out of our faith and love for the Lord. Working is secondary to our faith in Christ, but to say that we must work sounds like we must earn our salvation. That's just it... we cannot earn our salvation. We can do absolutely nothing to satisfy God's righteousness and His justness.
Christ, on the other hand, satisfies God's righteousness and justness; this is how God is both merciful AND just! Our accepting His sacrifice and receiving the free gift of grace in the Spirit liberates us from our sinful flesh and secures us into Christ's "new man." This is salvation.
If we continue to grow in Him, depending and relying on Him and ultimately growing this relationship with Him, the works follow naturally (just as the other "fruits" of Christ grow out of us). Yes, we work. This is in the Bible and we cannot ignore it! :3 But the ultimate matter is the condition of our heart. If we are truly living a Christ-centered life, these works will naturally be produced out of the condition of our heart!
But we have to be careful, because our working may become a distraction from what's really important (Christ Himself in our spirit as the Spirit). Even if we fall out of contacting the Spirit and we become like the cast out "dried branch" in John 15, our salvation is still secure because of the righteousness and justness of God. Working does not secure salvation; it is merely the natural result of our loving Jesus! :3
