Description I think everyone in the world should have pets, and if you're in a living situation where you can't have a cat or a dog, I think you should have a ferret! They are a lot of work, I won't lie. But I find the rewards to outweigh all of the cons.

I actually don't have the ferret in the picture, and I miss her terribly. Her name was Alexi-Jaska. She was the only ferret I had who would behave enough to be photographed. God knows that her brothers won't be still. Antti and Henkka, I'm looking at you!!

I own two, Gwen(ivyr) and Jasper. I can never get them to stay still long enough for pictures either! My original ferret would have but he's gone.

My fiancee and I just got our first ferret--and he's a real love! He acts just like a kitten in many ways, and just loves to be cuddled (when he's not busy pouncing and playing).

Mine are little jerks. They only want to be held when they're sleepy. The youngest one has a twenty minute rule. You're only allowed to pick him up twice within the span of twenty minutes. If you try a third time, he'll get mad and hide from everybody.

Our little one loves to play on the couch with us...and actually starts sulking when we put him back in his home! He's really sweet when he want to be...but get him riled up and playful and he's near-uncontrollable.

Oh they're so good for making you feel like a jerk when you return them to the cage. The eldest will go back to the hammock after a few minutes, but the youngest lays down and looks depressed.

Ours climbs the cage and bites on the bars to express his frustration.

My Antti does that when he is out of water or needs more food. Usually when he first goes back to the cage, he will just go to his hammock for his nap, but if he gets overly frustrated, he will bite and claw. I like to tease him sometimes because both ferrets have learned their names. So sometimes I call for him and then wait to see how long it takes for him to get frustrated that I haven't let him out yet.
