Towns
-Scarborough: The town on the water. With liquid streets you've got small boats taking people everywhere and bridges hovering over every intersection. It's a tremendous place in the day but it has a dangerous night life with drunks, gangsters, and other criminals. At the edge of town is the port, where many newcomers will arrive. Think Venice meets victorian London meets 1910s New York.

-Masqueville: A small town of small cabins filled with small minded people. Dirt roads, horse drawn carriages, victorian clothing.

-Jehovah Town: It's a mountain, it's a town, it's a mine. You'll find steam powered cars driving up the solid roads of black wooden planks protruding from the mountain, spiraling up until there's no oxygen left. Houses are built into the mountain rock in layers, buildings stacked on top of buildings, some people clime ladders to get to their front door every day. There's always smoke and steam coming from the chimneys, giving the city a strong smokey smell. It's a fascinating and bustling place, much more populated than Scarborough.

Points of Interest
-Jehovah Mountain: This is the tallest formation you'll find on any of the islands, reaching up past the clouds and into the atmosphere. It's impossible to see the top because of the smoke that's always rising from the Jehovah Town's chimneys, but sometimes if you look hard enough you can almost see something…
At the bottom of the mountain, below the town, is a mine. What do the miners work on day and night? What seems to be an endless supply of… Salt! The Salt Island's number one export, so you can get an idea of how the country got its name. The mine is almost like a white and crystal cave. It would be a beautiful sight if there weren't dirty miners marching in and out all day every day.

-Canyon Pass: An epic hall of red earth. You have to cross through here if you want to get to Jehovah Mountain. Be careful, boulders are said to fall down from here, you don't want to get crushed!

-Arch Trail: This is the all-important road of dirt and gravel that will safely lead you from Scarborough, past Masqueville, through Canyon Pass, to Jehovah Mountain. This is where you will see the most stunning country with winding rivers and prairies, but not in the morning because water will rise from the various creeks and rivers, caking it with zero-visibility fog. This trail can be long and tedious, but if you want to stay safe I suggest you not wander too far. If you somehow hitch either a steam powered car from the edge of Scarborough or a horse and carriage from some of the country homes along this trail it could save a world of trouble.

-Forbidden Woods: As you may have guessed from the name, it's against the law to enter this place. With black trees and ashy leaves, it radiates a deathly aura, feeling as though the forest itself is staring at you like a hidden predator. There appears to be no life in this forest, not even the smallest chirp of a bird. Arch Trail makes sure to go around this, which is an annoying detour. It may look like a simple hour walk through, but they say if you step foot into this forest and loose sight of where you entered you won't be leaving any time soon. There are rumors that this is the forest Heath Stockholm emerged from after conquering death. If you have a good intuition, you'll stay as far away from this forest as possible.

-Ahriel Woods: Opposite to the Forbidden Woods, this place is a radiant green forest on the equator, filled with friendly wildlife whose chirping and calling can be heard from miles away. A popular get-away for young lovers.

-Judaea River: The body of water separating the Center Island with the Southern Island, but also connects the North Atlantic Ocean with the South Atlantic Ocean. It's waters are muddy and its currant is fast. Beware of the undertow.

-Abbadon's Mouth: The one feature of the Southern Island that isn't rock, hot sand, or quick sand. A shadowy pit spreading apart several miles. No one knows if there's a bottom or not.

-Exode River: Beautiful, peaceful teal waters between the Northern Island and the Center Island. Lined with beaches and greenery. Ships with newcomers sail in to Scarborough through here, a good first impression.

-Abandoned Mill: A mill on Exode River that churns even with no one living there. It's connected to a small home that's beginning to fall apart, slowly being taken over by nature. It radiates a sad, nostalgic aura. Would could have lived here?

-Jochebed Lake & the Northern Island Ruins: A lake of surreal beauty in the depths of a quarry . The water is a bright, unrippled turquoise. At the top of the quarry cliffs there are all kinds of lush wildlife, but then there are old stone ruins. The ruins used to be homes and other buildings, but it's been a few hundred years since their fall so it's hard to tell anymore. Along some walls there are some mysterious paintings that seem to illustrate some sort of tale, but the paint is mostly chipped.

Never said it but I really like this map. Though the only missing thing  would be a map scale. Each time I'm wondering what could be the distance between one spot to one other !  Xd

How long is the island exactly? lets say you walk from one end to the other, how long would it take to travel across?

(o shit i thought I answered this a long time ago OTL i'm sorry)

It would probably take a couple weeks by foot, but if you took a car it might just be several days.

is there some sort of bridge that connects both Northern and Southern Islands t the Main Island?

KristaDLee In reply to TheAtomicPumpkin [2015-04-22 06:34:21 +0000 UTC]

There's a ferry that (rarely) travels from the main island to the northern one, but there is no transportation to the southern island. The characters will have to find their own way there if necessary~

Question: Where would the highest population of spirits be?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KristaDLee In reply to TheShadowsStrike [2015-02-28 05:54:57 +0000 UTC]

That would be in the northern island, which is all nature & no human civilization. On the other end of the spectrum, the southern island (which is all desert/rock/wasteland) has only one spirit, but it's a big one.

Can these Islands be reached by plane? :0
By the by, amazing map you've got there!

Thank you~

If they had access to a plane, yes. However, the problem would be finding a safe place to land. The closest thing to 1910 state-of-the-art technology the islands have is steam powered cars. For a good runway I'd recommend either Arch Trail since it's in the plains (get it? Plain? Plane? I'll show myself out.) or the southern island since it's mostly sand and flat rock (be careful not to fall into Abbadon's Mouth, though!)
