Oh look, another OC. This time, though, she doesn't belong to any fandom; I was working on a sketch for this month's prompt - superheroes - on my Facebook art group, and then...it turned into this. I ended up combining the prompt with my results from this post-apocalyptic generator a member in the same group linked to. So...yeah

Name: Krystal
Alias: Rogue Shadow
Abilities: Enhanced agility, balance, and endurance; perfect aim; shadow control and travel. Later discovers she can manipulate earth.
Weapon of choice: Bow and arrow
Limitations: Krystal can only travel between shadows if she's been to a place before; also, the larger the distance between two shadows, the more tired she is upon arrival. She can bring people with her, as long as she's touching them; however, the bigger the group, the more the effort drains her, too. Her earth manipulation abilities are more for defense, when she raises rock or stone walls to shield her (and her companions, if any). The bigger the object she tries to control, the more concentration she needs.

Her story: When an alien race invaded Earth, they took humans from various countries to examine and experiment on. One experiment involved introducing alien DNA early in an embryo's gestation period, to try and unlock the meta-gene. The experiment's ultimate goal was to create a 'super-race' the aliens could then send to and subjugate other planets.

Krystal was among those in a successful 'batch' of ten who showed significant power levels during development; her powers manifested quite early - she was only 8 months old. As soon as she mastered 'the basics' (reading, writing, math, computer skills), she spent the next ten years of her life learning to control her powers.

Growing up, she noticed that the trainers didn't treat the powered individuals any different from non-powered ones, and would often ask her surrogate parents (she never knew her birth mother) about life before the invasion. The more she heard, the more she wanted to see Earth as it used to be. She began spending more and more time with her peers who felt the same way, and they planned their escape. Finally, she and her 'siblings' put their plan into action. A few lost their lives or were taken back over the course of the escape, but a larger part of the group succeeded in breaking out.

Now, a 19-year-old Krystal and her surrogate family are looking for the remnants of humankind, to try and rally them into one last stand against the interplanetary rulers - to take Earth back.

Lazy background and foreground elements are lazy OTL I used an old photo of the sky to enhance the sky I already painted in. Also, I might just sketch the rest of the 'main' group (including Keiji's counterpart for this post-apocalyptic superhero AU).

I know I have a point commish still pending (gomen-!! orz) so I'll try to get to that as soon as possible
