The half mask developed not only due to the fact that the full mask made it hard to convey emotion, it made it hard to sing.

Love it. You can just see the lonely thoughts reflected in his eyes. Brilliant

AWWWW! He reminds me very much of Gwynplaine as a little kid, what with the scarf and all.

I this version of him, very much.
(Also, this isn't at all a criticism so much as something that makes me giggle--for a moment, with the single gaslight like that, I thought he was in Narnia. X-D)

He looks so lonely and sad... like a puppy who's been left out in the cold. I read the book and I think this convays him really well. Fantastic job! Fav!

Gods, I want to cry! The pain and hurt in his eyes is very apparent, and bravo for his eyes being golden as they're supposed to be! I *have* to read Kay's version soon, yet I can't find the book anywhere in Australia, which sucks majorly. *sigh* Still, much love for your picture. Wish I had any amount of that talent, I want to draw him... *another sigh* +fav

I like the Kay Erik too, but the ending kind of nearly pushed me over to the Raoul side.

Thanks!
Sometimes inspiration smacks me and then leaves when I actually start doing something. It's unfortunate.

This picture is fantastic, i'm adding this to my favourites.
To any Doctor Who fans out there, he kind of reminds me of the Fourth Doctor, with the long scarf and hat. Anyway, god i love this picture

It's actually not the best book (sorry!) because Christine is a little... odd... but the characterization of the Phantom was pretty good.
I'm lucky to have gone on vacation to Las Vegas, so I saw the production there. It was short, but the special effects were awesome.

I really like this! Yes, you have to love the eccentrics. If you donβt love themβ¦ no one will. LOL
But, anyway, great pic. I love the mask. A lot of people CAN NOT pull the full, Leroux mask off without making Erik look like a total idiot. So, congrats!

I don't think the full-face mask is a barrier of any sort. His eyes and body language convey pain quite clearly (well, at least, I *assume* that's anguish he's meant to express). I like all the little details you threw in - the lamp, the snow, the texture on his clothing - and of course, his gloves.

Thanks!
I'm actually not exactly sure what sort of emotion he's supposed to be feeling right now... in the book he's feeling depressed. Just so long as he doesn't look like "hey look pretty snow" I'm fine.
