Description Sand and pebbles and lifeless terrain
Motheringly nurtures it's bloodless vein
Long since lost to sunny strain
Dying of thirst, one drop of rain
Could save this empty, ugly, wonderful plane.

It maybe populated, but who knows why,
It one day lived and one day died

The people who live there are seldom inclined
To seek it's depths, they haven't the time
Though it's passive and present, they'd rather whine
of it's burning coals and withered vines
Never to find it's certain secret subtle sublime.

It's was always greener on the other side
It one day lived and one day died

Perched above a landscape beat
under cement and steel and plastic sheets
which was placed so they may cross their streets
without it's dust and sand to dirty their feet
They blanket it's love that they simply don't need

It asked for no help, but of course we tried,
It one day lived and one day died.

I wish I could have seen it before.
It's dwellers forgot to love and adore
The natural beauty of the desert's core.
