Description Full face-paint FTW! I'll definitely wear the Summon Spirit of Water again once it's all fixed up, since the character design is just gorgeous and I love the skirt fabric as well as putting on the face paint. Everything has been made myelf, including the long ears and the fin. And it had lots of parts to paint <3

Worn: Animuc 2013 (FΓΌrstenfeldbruck near Munich, Germany)
Photographer: Congiero

Haha yes, it was quite a bit of work - always happy to hear it paid off ^__^

YES not to sound weird, but the boob construction is what caught my eye. it's not like the normal way you see a bodice constructed- it reminds me of that shell bra that Ariel has in that Disney movie.

That's fine, don't worry ^__^
Well yes, I didn't want it to squish everything around and embedded a sort of bra-shape.
It was a bit tricky (especially with calculating the un-stretched measurements), but that's part of the fun I guess ;D

Aw, well maybe Undine wants to be part of our world as well~? ^.^

@_@ Just stretchy fabric alone confuses me. I used a one-way stretch cotton but I used the wrong kind of stitching so it doesn't stretch where I need it to. It's fine and works, but meeeh learning experience.

Mine is 2-way stretch (not sure what the fabric is called, but it's a bit similar to swimwear) and it worked out really well.
Had to construct something to keep it from sliding up though and it's really extremely stretched to avoid wrinkles x'D

Good to hear you've found a way to make yours work!
Which project was it for, if you don't mind me asking?

It was for my Neku costume. The only seam that really needs any of the stretch is where the collar attaches to the main part of the shirt x_x My book said that a certain straight stitch would work, but it obviously doesn't. I can squeeze my head through, but it's snug. I think... you're supposed to use some form of zigzag...?
My machine's tension is all wonky now. It ruined any niceness that was in my Lightning's costume *shakes fist at it*
