You called it Sonic Heroes, but it's more like Sonic CD because that is classic Sonic and Classic Metal and not new gen. Sonic and Neo Metal ^^

Its about Metal Sonic ^^
Dr. Eggman created Metal Sonic to oumatch Sonic. So he tricks sonic and captures his data to programm metal sonic. In their first battle sonic is knocked out by metal. Dr. Eggman now tells metal to find a way to destroy the planet so he can rebuild it as eggmanland. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles have to stop metal and eggman...

You really don't know what the genesis is ?
It was a gaming console back in the old days, when the first sonic games where made. Sonic 1-3 and Knuckles!
Back then, when gaming was hardcore and sonic was badass!
The Collection for DS is just a remake/bundle of the god ol' classics...
