Yeah. It's true that it's easy to mess things up, but you can up with so many more great ideas with colors! And it's more fun to express your creativity through colors. When I first started out coloring, I sucked. Everyone does at first, but as long as you don't focus on simply not messing up, you can come up with some truly great pieces of art! All you need to do is practice, and you'll get it!
