Looks good to me! Maybe when dealing with rounded edges and square edges it will reflect jagged and on the larger surfaces be more noticeable? I don't do much reflective work so my guess is just a guess.Β Β

Maybe it's because of the 1:2 dithering? Ambient value 2 (Lighting) is also a lot.
Try this:
Ambient Shadows: DEAO, check "no dithering" and check "first random step". If the ambient shadow is too strong, try MaxL values < 1 (0.3 or 0.6 for instance). Or try SSAO15, SSAO24, SSAO24r. If holes are too dark check "treshold to 0". I think for IFS often DEAO with first random step, unchecked dithering, is the best ambient occlussion.
Lighting: Ambient, use value 1.0.
Calculation: check "First step random"

thank you so much for the advice.
i will try these settings and see what happens.
I need to be more patient, and thourough in learning what all the features of this program do.

Well, forgive me but I don't see any imperfection in the reflections here, but my eyes, well..... Β Β Β
There are tutorials here on DA, but I found this one by Sabine very well done and understandable; it has been very useful to me as a starting point.
The other advice I can give to you (as a beginner) is...try various settings, as the values that are good on an image, not always are good for another. I know it's a bit frustrating but that's it. Hope to be of some help! Β Β Β

thank you for the confidence boost.
i tend to be hard on myself, if the results do not live up to the expectations that ive placed for myself.
