You'll have to fill me in on what I assume are the red and juicy details behind this particular bit of, um, voting incentive. I await your answer, as I'm sure this must be intriguing.

I was talking to the Americans, otherwise I'd mention Britian and Canada. -_-
America's problem is that they are beginning to rely on illegal immigrants.
I'm not being hostile. I am fine with immigrants. I don't care who they are, but I think they should enter countries legally.
What does that tell you about a person who breaks the law and goes somewhere they shouldn't be?
I think the government in Iraq should try to run itself.
Americans are too lazy to do their own work it seems. It really annoys me how stupid we're getting. Most people think they're too good to work for minimum wages and that's sad. It's sad we have to rely on immigrants. It's almost taking advantage of them because they're willing to work harder.
I don't think we should be rewarding people for sneaking into countries like that.

The thing about immigration is that they can come if they want. They can come and live in our country and live a better life BUT they should at least enter legally.
I'm not racist. I don't care what nationality they are, but don't blame me for being a bit skittish for not wanting illegal people in my country.
Even if they are harmless, I still think they should enter legally and become citizens.
It's like having people break into your house, eat your food, watch your tv, but being a (very much uninvited) guest, they don't have to pay for anything they used up (like taxes or go through the process of becoming citizens) They get everything you and your family have, even a share in family votes and privileges, but they did not work for what they got.
Also, if we just sit by and let people sneak into or country, who knows? We may get quite a few terrorists.
I can imagine seeing on the news, a tape sent by one of them where they smirk saying how easy it was to get into the U.S. and how they were allowed to buy all the supplies needed to kill thousands of innocent people. They've laughed at us before. America is being disgraced here! Show some respect for your country!

i believe they come legally because our country make a certain group wait for a long time or deny them. ex: Latinos, Africans, etc.

The thing about immigration is that they can come if they want. They can come and live in our country and live a better life BUT they should at least enter legally.

From what I've seen, a large proportion of Americans can't tell the difference between legal immigration, asylum, and illegal immigration. If you have a problem with the level of legal immigration, complain to your Congressman. If you think too many asylum seekers gain entrance to America, then you're not aware of the pitifully low level of asylum applications granted, but contact your Congressman in any case. If you're concerned about the high level of illegal immigration, then ask your Congressman to introduce a bill which levies harsher fines on businesses which employ illegal immigrants, and stiffer prison sentences for business leaders.

It's like having people break into your house, eat your food, watch your tv, but being a (very much uninvited) guest, they don't have to pay for anything they used up (like taxes or go through the process of becoming citizens)

American business craves cheap, exploitable (and sometimes illegal) immigrant labour, and so does your economy. It's not so much immigrants doing work that native Americans don't want to do, but immigrants doing the work for below minimum wage and not paying tax; a win-win.

Even if they are harmless, I still think they should enter legally and become citizens.

Many also seem to think that people with liberal attitudes to immigration want unfettered immigration. This is ridiculous, as it's never been advocated. I want a reasonable immigration policy which isn't shaped by either thinly-veiled racism, or "facts" about immigrants' usefulness which contradict the economic statistics.

They get everything you and your family have, even a share in family votes and privileges, but they did not work for what they got.

I don't want that either.

I can imagine seeing on the news, a tape sent by one of them where they smirk saying how easy it was to get into the U.S. and how they were allowed to buy all the supplies needed to kill thousands of innocent people. They've laughed at us before.

That whole "we're helping the terrorists" line is absurd, and is used to slander people by implying that they're either reckless or are indifferent to terrorism. We've already given them all they wanted by going into Iraq and creating a haven for Al-Qaeda, who were non-existent in Iraq before the invasion. I'm sure Iraq is also a great drive for recruitment in Al-Qaeda.

Besides, there are plenty of potential terrorists already residing within the US, legally.

They've laughed at us before. America is being disgraced here! Show some respect for your country!

America being disgraced doesn't concern me, because I'm not American. Don't assume that everybody on this site is American. It's peculiar how a nation of immigrants can be so hostile towards newer immigrants.

This deviation is a parodying the (British) Conservative Party's use of provocative billboard ads during the last General Election. Their regurgitated their usual inflammatory rhetoric about asylum seekers, but always qualified their statements with "we're not being racist". You can qualify any bigotry and xenophobia with those words, which is what this deviation highlights. It's satirising the ever-present fear that foreigners and people of a different race will rape our daughters if we let them into our country.

Haha I remember seeing one of those posters.

Some graffiti artists edited one in the local area from "It's not racist to impose limits on immigration" to "It's racist to impose limits on immigration"

Changing the slogan to "Are you thinking what we're thinking? - Don't Vote conservative"

well ... as i am struggling to decide which side im on ... cause i see valid points in both conservative and liberal i must say that your poster is indeed a GOOD one. it does it's job.

however, upon closer inspection, does voting liberal really get all the evil people in the streets ? and would voting conservative really keep them all locked up ? nope.

This deviation is about the crass opportunism of the Conservative Party in the UK during the mid-2005 general election.

It's ok though, they've become all cute and liberal since they elected their new douchebag of a leader. It took them three election defeats to work out they need to be socially liberal to get into power.

I really don't understand - are you trying to make a point that the Conservative party is racist?

It's really not funny, because I myself am a tory supporter, but I think this whole issue with immigrants and people that "blow up our trains" is fucking disgraceful.

I feel this poster would have been a lot funnier if it were advertising the BNP. You never know, if you'd have done that, they may have even comissioned you to do more, and use them.
