This is just way too awesome, Kronos.
How do you usually start your backgrounds when you're using C4Ds? Do you normally just start out with a transparent background, or do you start with colors like black/white? I ask because (as you already know) my backgrounds are always built off of C4Ds but I can sometimes find it hard to implement lighting like this.

Normally, i start adding a dark color from the render to the bg, although i could start in any other color or transparent, because i most of the times fill the whole canvas with the c4ds, so the bg isn't visible.
Adding lightsources like this is easy, you just have to combine 2 c4ds(they can be on diffrent layers), add them and try to put it like that so they leave a empty circle in the center. After that in a new layer with a soft white brush, brush 1 time in the center of circle, after that make another layer on top of these 2 c4d layers and brush again with the white soft brush(or it could be any color, i used yellowish green here ) and play with the opactiy of this layer until it looks like the light is coming out of that hole you have created with the c4ds. Also, for directing the light to a certain zone, use the motion blur filter on the white soft brushing layer and choose the direction of your light.

Ah, thanks for the awesome advice, Kronos. As strange as it may be, I am going to have to bookmark this deviation just so I can look at your comment in the future if I ever need any reference, lol.
