Also, the ending was too sappy and predictable (but of course, I shouldn't have expected anything less from Meyer).

Some better ideas for the ending:

-the do managet to get the "soul" out of the Tracker, but Lacey turns out to have been a serial killer before she was possessed, and she kills everyone.

-before Wanda manages to do the whole "soul transfer" thing, the rest of the aliens find the hideout, capture all the humans, and remove Wanda's memories of the entire thing

-the whole thing was happening if Purgatory to see if Melanie was worthy of entering Heaven, "Wanda" was just a manifestation of her purity and positive qualities, and Wanda "dying" means Melanie is allowed to enter Heaven (because in reality, she was pushed out of that window by a mugger)

-Melanie is in a mental hospital and hallucianted the whole thing

-"Wanda" was the real Melanie all along, and "Melanie" was the alien pretending to be her to fool everyone, even her human mind. So, when they kill "Wanda", it turns out the alien takes over, and it's really evil, so she rats out the location of the hideout to the other aliens, who kidnap and soul-transfer everyone.

-we cut to a scene in a high-tech futuristic city, and it turns out this whole thing was a virtual reality simulation, and that "Melanie" is really a 36 year old Renesmee Cullen

Heee, I loved The Host! Its amazing. And I always cry at certain parts. I'm so looking forward to the movie and to the next book. Which I heard could take a while. So I'm seeking it elsewhere. I love this one. So simple, and I LOVE Ian there and that guy from Supernatural. Ian ofcourse because of Vampire Diaries, but that Dean guy, I hadn't even thought of him, but he suits Jared yeah.
