Description "The Restless Wave" - Acrylics - 30ins x 40ins
RNLB "Hermione Lady Colwyn" and RAF rescue Sea King.

Seascape a "homage" to the works of Aivazovsky.

I intend to donate this picture to raise funds for my local Royal National Lifeboat Station in support of their new boathouse and lifeboat which replaces that shown above.

The bravery of the volunteer crews is inspiring. My intention with this picture is to capture that above all else.

Thankyou. In the big original (30 x 40ins) the sea almost moves, I am very pleased with the water and want to do more wild cliff scenes of my favourite Cornish and Devon coastlines. I need more hours in the day!

The original is going to be displayed in the crew room of the fantastic new boathouse. I've donated this with the copyright. A large framed print will be auctioned at the charity ball at the Grand hotel in Brighton and they will take orders for further prints.

Beautiful. The composition is wonderful with just the right balance of orange to blue to allow the boat and copter to stand out among the angry waves.

This is brilliant, just brilliant.

I can imagine being surrounded by grey/blue water, fearing you wont be found or survive until you are found, then seeing these looming out at you, signalling help and salvation.

Fantastic painting, I hope you raise a lot for your local RNLI. It's amazing

It still astounds me that they RNLI is made up for volunteers. They are a vital service to us in the UK and we should always respect them and help continue their amazing work.

I am truly honoured by your words. I've always lived by the sea and the R.N.L.I. are a vital service - especially when the other services are being cut back. Thankyou for commenting.
On another note, it's also good to find a Jack Vettriano fan. I like his work for many reasons even if the "art world" don't. Also, if you like Garfield - have you tried "Simon's Cat"? Try Youtube- I gaurantee you'll laugh out loud!

Jack Vettriano is a true legend and I love the fact that every piece of his has a story or thought behind it. I studied his work a lot when doing A level art. My art teacher though I would enjoy his work and I truly do.

Yes! Simon's Cat is fantastic. I've seen the cartoons on Youtube and got the first book. Hoping my family will get me the second book for my birthday lol.
