It may not be perfect, but this is the first time I've built a MOC with a proper alt mode!

Pretty neat dude. My suggestion is to go back with the thought of making him fold in on himself for the whole transformer thing. Use the legs as the back wheels and the hands as the front.

Yeah. Lots of moving pieces is the trick. Moving parts, and then make it so they can connect like the legs do. Redesign it so the legs fold backwards in on itself like I said. That'll be key to make this work. You've got a great concept it just needs a little better execution.
