Description Adinkra, The Legend of the Bearers is a fantasy graphic novel which is still in production. It is about a group of people, separated by tribes but united by a divine being known as the Great Weaver and a common enemy known as the Shadow.

Having wrestled with this nemesis through countless generations and losing many loved ones in the process, the Great Weaver in his wisdom saw it fit to share his great power with certain individuals, known as Bearers, who would help deliver these people from this very powerful foe. They are each born with a symbol (an Adinkra symbol) and empowered by that symbol to do the bidding of the Great Weaver.

This is the story of the Bearers, their struggles with the Shadow, their struggles with their humanity even though they have divinity in them and their pursuit for victory over both.

Adinkra Symbols: Adinkra are visual symbols, originally created by the Akan of Ghana and some parts of Cote d'Ivoire in West Africa, that are representative of various concepts that are believed in and held on to by the people of this region. You can read more on them here, [link] .
