Description About time I posted this lol... When I went to Ireland.. I went to Blarney Castle and kissed the Blarney stone.. The Blarney Stone is supposed to give the gift of persuasive eloquence or blarney. Other's refer to it as the gift of gab.

It was a really interesting experience.. I was at the top of the castle and hung over the edge (meaning there was nothing below me but air.. and ground.. a LOOOOONG way down) The only thing keeping me from falling to my death was an older man who was flirting with me (jokingly, I think he was trying to make me relax) Not to mention that it had just rained and the castle was really slippery...

So yeah.. it was pretty scary.. but I would do it again in a heart beat.. and everyone who goes to Ireland should.. You can't leave Ireland with out kissing the legendary Blarney Stone...

That and trying not to think about how many germy lips kissed the stone right before you...XD
But yeah, it's definitely worth it to at least be able to say you've had the experience. I know I enjoyed it, strange as it was~

And this is definitely a great shot of the castle - the angle and the clouds really give it a more ominous look. And I love all the contrasting greens in the plants below. And I'm very impressed that you managed to get a shot without people milling around.

A wonderful shot of Blarney Castle!

I've mentioned your name and the photo in my artist's comments on my own Blarney Castle shot [link] Please let me know if you would like me to remove the links.

beautiful picture! strangly though I've never felt the need to dangle off of a castle held by a man so that I can kiss a stone....maybe thats why I've never been to Blarney

haha it was a pretty strange experience... when I went up there, I had no idea that I would have to dangle off, I thought it would just be in the middle or something. When I found out, I just thought that since I had climbed all the way up there, I might as well It was fun lol. I'd do it again. I will do it again

proof I think that you should always research where your going first so that you know when you'll have to dangle off the side of the castle

Really? My clan is Scots-Irish, which is great because I got to visit both when I went. It's so beautiful over there! Like stepping back in time. And the pubs are amazing! I really hope you get to go one day.

Really? So you've got a bit of royal blood eh? That's really cool... I'm linked to Ian Rankin the Scottish writer, and I think one of my ancestors was a mayor or something in Ireland... but royalty is so much better

Ew, an old man flirting with me wouldn't make me relax. LOL My mom always jokes about people peeing on the stone. ;D

Awesome capture. Love how the light strikes everything, and the detail & texture are lovely. The plants in the foreground almost look painted! Awesome work.

O.O wow... peeing on the stone... I pray that really is just a joke

The wind was blowing when I took it, so all the plants went crazy, I think that's where the painted thing comes from.

Thank you so much

lol! I didn't see it ^.^ I think I had my eyes closed.. The weird thing is.. I've never been afraid of heights.. I am claustrophobic though.. and those stairs.. probably put me on edge hehe

Thank you!
