The beautiful Kate Beckinsale as the Vampire Selene from Underworld 2, you got to love that outfit
Prismacolor pencils on black Canson pastel paper about A3 in size.
Well I got it finished, pretty happy with most of it although I struggled to get her face correct, still not entirely happy with it but there's only so many time you can overwork coloured pencil without the paper falling appart.

IΒ΄sorry... but i have to say, that the face (especially the eyes) really look a bit strange hummm... it looks a bit like the face is "melting down" - but the outfit and the colours are really great!!

the left eye is right, the right eye not, but the rest of the draw is perfect!

its that little difference that is bothering...drawn 'from' being quite different than drawn 'on'...meaning one can't get the hands drwan correctly (like in your drawing), which are one of the hardest things to draw regarding human anatomy, and at the same time get the face so wrong...which is just a basic simetry and perspective exercise.
Giger used a technique that involved working on photos....but used acrilics...and some other things.
I would go in your case working with the photo using part of it...and transforming other parts in the favour of the final result...

Yeah I screwed the face up a bit, I now realise that you can't get coloured pencil to go white enough on top of black paper, you live and learn.

Thanks, yeah I was pretty happy with the outfit, dark armosphere is thank to the use of black paper to draw on.
