The snow and lovely inkwork remind me of Craig Thompson's Blankets (I only read it last christmas). Hope you don't take that as a bad thing.
Randomly, my brain tried figuring out how the girl made the heart shape; the first explanation being she hopped her way around the tree instead of say walking in alternative steps. XD
