For last week's "AKIRA" themed #fanartfriday [link]Itβs Kaneeeeedaaaaaaaaa!!!! I watched the anime again to get myself into the mood for some fanarts. It was such a struggle to draw the bike in this ONE view that my mind does a bunch of mini explosions whenever I watch the amazing drag races on film. Epic to the extreme. I also really dug the animated light effects streaking around so tried to capture the feel of that here.

I remember watching this when I was like 14, and being thoroughly disturbed. Turned me into the person you know today! 8D WOOP
LOVING The colours with this one! The warm purples and reds then with the harsh LIGHTNING and the bike lights. It's very eye catching, and great job on that bike! Vehicles are a toughie to draw.

This is the movie that got me into anime and Japan. It's be soon long since I've seen any good Akira work. I love the style it fits the moment in the movie.

Yeah, Akira is one of the most amazing pieces of animation ever. Maybe the most amazing animation I've seen when glass shattered after explosion and went down on crowd (or something like that) and it was all done by hand.
