And now I have come to that favorite among fairy tales, Sleeping Beauty (reviews here and here ). It was hard to find a published version of Perrault's original in its entirety, but the Grimm version is well-known too, and pretty similar (for the first half anyway!). It was fun to do a princess and try to set her in a different time than my previous two, and also to try to make her not too similar to either the 1959 Disney classic, or the 2014 re-imagining in Maleficent (eh).

That's a good idea! I've been meaning to re-read that, and when I do I'm sure some sketches will end up in my little book. Thanks for the suggestion! (In the meantime, I did do this little number , though it's definitely inspired by the movie.)

Thank you! And do you mean "little Aurora" (like young Aurora), or that you like that she looks little, like youngish (since she's supposed to be 16) or like, that little Aurora on the left? In any case, she's not meant to be young Aurora, the smallish one on the left is when she's living in the woods. ANYway, to answer your question (ha), I'm basically reading through the source material/original stories for all the Disney movies and then drawing my own designs of the characters while trying not to be too influenced by the Disney versions. So, they're Disney in a way, since I'm working through the Disney animation canon, but they're also UN-Disneyed, because they're my own designs. It's been fun so far!
