I recently re-read Dickens's A Christmas Carol, and enjoyed it very much (review here: [link] ), and then I read several spin-offs/sequels/adaptations and didn't enjoy them quite as much. There's nothing like the original, and Ebenezer Scrooge is probably one of the best characters in the Dickens line-up, and maybe even in all of literature. I did these character drawings several years ago, the last time I read this book, but I thought they were fun (if a little inaccurate, according to my most recent reading), so I held them back until now to post them. I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year!

Oh yes, such a great character, I had to put him down on paper after reading the book.

He's one of my favourite characters. C: I just never drew him at all.

I actually pictured him pretty easily, which made drawing him pretty easy too. Probably because there are so many movie/illustrated versions of him, so he comes to mind pretty clearly.

I've been watching lots of 'A Christmas Carol' cartoons and films over the festive period as I'm writing my own fanfiction adaptation featuring Gargamel and the Smurfs, called 'A Smurfmas Carol'.
But as you said the original will always be the best but it's fun to try and base it on other familiar characters

There are so many different versions, it's fun to watch/read them and see how similar or different they are from each other, and from the original.

Thank you! Character design is fun and sometimes challenging, and it's always great to have wonderful characters to start with.

Especially with these. The characters which Charles Dickens created cross the generation gap, they are always prevalent. You did a very good job of putting your own spin on them.
