This one has a pretty unique story. A good friend I once worked with for many years and his wife lost their twin baby boys due to premature birth complications. It goes without saying it was tragic and they were devastated (to this day when I look at the pictures of the funeral, which I did often as reference for this, they make me cry). He asked me to do a drawing to frame and give to his wife of this sort of nature, and I really dragged my feet for a few reasons, mostly because I was nervous to tackle such a personal and sensitive subject, but I finally followed through, and he was so pleased, and I am told she was even more so (it looked really nice matted and framed). I just hoped to do some justice to the sacredness of their experience and hopefully help in some way in their grieving process. The original, much grander concept was pared down to an appropriately black and white image of the two of them holding the tiny infants, while their fully-grown sons comfort them from the Spirit World. It's very hard for them, but they know they'll all be together again. (For more information, see here: [link] )
