Description ok, now time to lok at some hands!
1. first we have a basic breakdown of the hands. notice the finger proportions
2.next we have the fist, a very popular hand postition. since this is the back, it's simple to draw, because the fingers are not showing, except for a bit of the thumb
3. this is the front of the fist. it's more complicated because of the overlapping fingers, but you should practice this one, and other hands will be much easier to draw
4. *meow* it's kind of a catlike hand, it seems to be reaching out a little bit. This one is good to practice as well, because you learn about drawing fingers in a row, like it's shown
5. hand going down. It's not that complicated, most of the fingers are hidden, but it can be difficult to draw. If you learn this one, it can be used for leaning on a table, patting something, or holding sometihng. then, try drawing the front veiw of this hand.
6. holding small objects. notice that only the first two fingers, and not all of the are holding the marble. this is very natural looking! this hand also uses slight overlapping fingers. so pay attention to that.
7. drawing hand. good when someone is writing or drawing something. make sure it looks natural, not stiff or odd. compare it to your own hand if you have to.
8. reaching hand. it's more difficult than you think, because it has to look natural. it's tilted slightly, and looks like it's reaching desperately
9. forwawrd reaching hand. You need a lot of practice on this one, befouse it's foreshortening. When you get it right, though, it looks really cool.
10.scratching hand. notice how the fingers arent all the same, and the hand looks tense. that's due to the scratching
11.pointing hand. it's not extremely difficult, and learning it gives access to more hand positions.
12. hanging/gripping hand. it's almost like a fist, only it has something going through it. remember it should look exactly like a fist, though
13. wield. when the character is holding a sword, dont make it grip, because that's odd looking. make it wield. it allows wrist movement. notice how in comparison to gripping hand, the wielding hand's fingers are all tilted slightly upward.
14.cautious pressing hand. it's not used very often, but you never know. to add as one of those hand gestures girls use when they wink, bend the wrist more
15. peeling/pinching hand. make sure the fingers are closer together the thinner the material is.
16.leaning back hand. for use when leaning back against a hand rail or throwing a cool kick. the thumb doest show here, and notice the natural finger spacing.
17. large object gripping hand. the hand is spaced out to grip the object. notice how the finger are bent and spaced.
18. relaxed hand. It's not doing anything in particular, just sitting there. by changing the position of the thumb, however, you can make it look like it's holding something.
19.caressing hand. it doesn't look fierce at all. the fingers are pulles back slightly, almost shyly, and the thumb is in a relaxed position
20. I could not resist. notice the look of the fingers! dont make them look wierd

that's it! practice with your own or a friend's hand to try other hand positions
