This is my first entry for the contest "The Good and Bad of Fall" of

This is an original caracter created by me, its a fakemon, its name is Mictracko a composition of Mictlan (the aztec underworld) and dracko (Dragon).

Mictracko is a representation of a mexican day of the dead altar, that is celebrated in my country the November 1st and 2nd [link] , it contain some important elements for the altars, the tail contains the fire of the candle to guide the souls, the petals Cempasuchitl (marigolds) in the skin, is a path to guide the souls to the altar's food and a reminder of the impermanence of life, the things in its arms are bread of dead “Pan de muerto” [link] a traditional food of the festivities “yummy!”, its claws are made of Candy corns, the stomach have some decoration bones, the legs are made of salt to represent the purity of the souls, the base of the wings are made of copal incense to purify the ambient and the smoke are the wings itself.

The red thing hanging of its neck is papel picado [link] a traditional decoration of day of the dead, the pattern in the neck represent the water for the thirsty souls and finaly a sugar skull in the forehead.

Supposedly the souls of the dead return to eat their favorites food in the altars during the nights of Nov 1st and 2nd, they extract the escence of the food, after that day you can eat the food, but surprisingly the flavor of the food decreases more than the normal during that night, XD. The children can go out to ask for the “Calaverita” a kind of trick or treat exept for the trick part, considering that we celebrate the Halloween too, so there are three days for candies
