Deathnote is an excellent series all the way through, in my opinion. Near wasn't the same as L, by any means, and he certainly dampened the amount of light-heartedness that L brought to the series with his quirkiness, but he was still a great character. Especially with his Mello-and-Near dynamic.

Ah, yes then.. Well, I think maybe I didn't give those new characters into the second series much of a chance >.>. I was indeed all bitter with the lack of L xD and I just saw Near as a bad copycat of L's character..
Good that it was a fully enjoyable series for you, though xD. Sometime, I should watch it again..
