Similar to the Kam we know, Kam of Dimension 604 was adopted by Vee and Marsha, but the circumstances were a bit different.

On the night Kam ran away from his father, Vee and Marsha were there. The pair were on their way to a restaurant for date night. They were stopped at an intersection when they watched as the boy ran across the crosswalk. His father drove after him, ignorant to the oncoming chemical truck. By the time he noticed, it was too late and he T-boned the chemical truck, causing a canister of chemicals to fly from the truck, striking Kam in the face.

The couple raced over to the accident, calling for an ambulance, but from Kam’s pained shrieks, they could tell he needed immediate help, so they rushed him over to the hospital. The doctors did everything they could, but the chemicals had blinded the poor boy. Additionally, the police took notice of the various scars and marks on the boy’s body, and placed his father under arrest. Feeling a kinship with the boy, Vee and Masha adopted him.

Kam soon discovered that the chemicals that blinded him also enhanced his other senses, compensating for his lost sight. Eventually, Kam’s father got out of jail and tried to kill the boy and his new parents by setting fire to their home. Deciding they wouldn’t be safe until that man was put away for good, Vee and Masha moved their little family to the Boiling Isles. It was in the isles that he began to hone his enhanced senses, developing into quite the acrobat, as well as choosing to study law so that he can put creeps like his father away. Kam eventually donned a costume and began fighting crime, using the nickname that his father used to demean and dehumanize him, “Diablo.”
