"Yellow Pearl was Yellow Diamond's loyal servant, she waited on her hand and foot, until she gave up her physical form to bring Steven into existence. From that point on, Yellow Pearl served as Steven's primary caretaker. Since Yellow Diamond was gone, she delegated control of Yellow Diamond's forces to the other two diamonds until Steven was old enough to display the leadership necessary to fulfill the role. She instilled many of Homeworld's twisted morals and views into Steven; such as that as a diamond, he was destined for greatness, and that he would eventually rule a third of Homeworld's army. But she never really understood him, his powers, or his emotions. She never really cared for him, she only viewed him as a means of restoring Yellow Diamond's legacy. Yellow Pearl led him down a dark path, leading him to do such atrocities as colonizing multiple planets and approving the creation of forced fusion experiments (though not on the scale of the cluster), all by saying it's what his mother would have wanted. She's very deceitful and manipulative, she'll use any means necessary to achieve her goals. She also delights in seeing the failure and misfortunes of others."
