Here's my contest entry for Chibicmps ' Matching Outfit contest for their OC's Sam Lucitor and Luna Butterfly!

I wanted to do something unique and since I've gotten pretty obsessed with ancient Chinese history and wuxia shows/novels and hanfus (specifically right now Mo Dao Zu Shi and The Untamed), I gave Sam and Luna modernized hanfus!
Why modernized? Because most couples' hanfu often look exactly the same with minor differences, but I wanted the differences to be clearer here yet still obvious, so I made the skirt for Luna shorter and gave Sam big, baggy pants. Luna also has a jacket as well but it's draped in such a way it resembles the silk scarves often painted in ancient China on heavenly maidens (or whatever you call them 'cause I can't seem to find any specific name for the scarves asjakfl).

I got inspiration from hanfu such as these ones: example 1 , example 2 , and example 3 .
