Ahhh, now that I'm done the expression sheet, I can finally post this, which I finished about a week ago!

The further I go, the more I really do think I'm starting to get the hang of digital art asjakfl. ;w;
This is my seventh or eighth time doing digital art for those keeping track~ (primarily me, because dagnabit I told myself I'd learn digital art nearly six years ago at this age so darn tootin' I'm going to keep track for awhile!)

Anyway, click on the expression sheet for my ideas on the Pearl's backstory, etc! Here's a snippet~

Name: Stormy Blue Pearl
Gem Type: Pearl
Rank: Servant
Owner: Star Sapphire
Occupation: helps out Star Sapphire, who's a benefactor of the Gem Labs
Nicknames: Stormy, Pearly (by Star Sapphire only)
Pronouns: primarily she/her pronouns, but they/them/their as well
Powers/Abilities: As a Pearl, Stormy can store things inside her gem and create projections or holograms, a skill she often uses to entertain her owner and/or to help keep track of or record things. One of the things she can do that is more unique to her is control smoke/clouds and electricity. This is a skill she has worked hard to perfect, mostly in secret, in order to protect those she cares about.
Hobbies: playing around with her weather powers, helping Star Sapphire, training in secret for combat, conducting secret research

Allegiance: Homeworld; specifically Blue Diamond; the Gem Labs
*NOTE: The Gem Labs is where scientific Gems work for the Diamonds with similar rules to medicine cats in Warriors (eg you don't have to show as much loyalty to the Diamonds and can interact more freely with other Gems from other courts and exchange info a bit more freely. Even wearing the diamond insignia isn't completely necessary - it's still technically required, but most Gems treat it like an option!).
History: Stormy Blue Pearl was made for Star Sapphire specifically, as most Pearls are. Her earliest happy memory is of meeting Star Sapphire for the first time, and the other Gem's friendly greeting (although Star is much more sinister than she seems!). Stormy vowed to protect and look after the first Gem who'd shown kindness to her. Star Sapphire is a benefactor of the Gem Labs, so Stormy also works there.
Personality:
Shy and gentle, Stormy Blue Pearl could be considered the "odd one out" in the Gem Labs when you look at some of the other Pearls of benefactors. She is quiet and thoughtful, usually not confident enough to state her opinions out loud. Despite this, and the fact that she is simply a Pearl, Stormy genuinely enjoys being in the Labs and learning new things. She's not quite aware of the Labs' darker side, but she will conduct her own research in private to learn more. This is because of her inquisitive nature—although she would never reveal this to any other Gem. Another secret of hers is that due to wishing to protect Star Sapphire, Stormy trains herself in combat secretly. She knows that at the end of the day, she's still simply a Pearl, but she has hopes to keep those close to her safe.. Stormy especially likes seeing all the various plants and animals from other planets that are accessible in the Labs; especially Earthen ones.
