The trust in the media is at an all time low since the US elections, due to the insane ammount of fake news and hitpieces they do to impulse their agenda. First they focused all of their shit on Trump, but after the election we are seeing an increase on character assassination attemps to popular figures. Last week they wrote dozens of articles claiming Pewdiepie was an anti semite for some obvious jokes in his videos, and now it’s the turn of Milo yiannopolous, whom they claim is a pedophile for some drunk comments he made about himself when he had 17 years old. It’s no wonder that the term “fake news”, which they created themselves to attack conservatives, has stick to them so much. This is very similar to what led to the creation of Gamergate, when people got sick of the media spreading lies and censoring. When some people claim gamergate to be dead, my answer is: No, it has never died, it’s the opposite, it grew so much that GGs message is now ecchoed by everyone in every aspect of life and so GG itself is not specifically important. We are a watchdog for unethical media and censorship, but everyone is worried about that now.

I thought 'fake news' was a term coined by fascists in Europe trying to discredit their media back in the 70s. I totally agree that it's real hard to trust any media when so much is clickbait or when you can go to two different channels and get two completely different stories based on the same 'facts'.
I guess we as consumers have to shape up and actively patron those we identify as 'mostly fair and balanced'... and hope to god that everyone else does too.

Character assassination is a popular tactic to shut the people you don't like up for the longest time, but now it has seen an alarming rise usage these days.
No longer is it being done by just intelligence agencies but now everyone who doesn't like someone else does it. And with social media it has never been easier to do. Also MSM has been tricked into reporting things made up by trolls now.
Yes, if you play your cards right, even you can get them to report your own bullshit. Especially if it is Trump related.

It's not an opinion. His stunt called for the death of all Jews.

He got fired from the project as the voice of one of the characters because of this disagreement. What does his political views have to do with Yooka-Laylee, a game that is devoid of any connections with politics?!
And to make it worse, the voices are just unintelligible grunts! If no one had pointed out, you wouldn't be able to tell who was voicing which character!
Had Playtonic just glossed over this issue, no one would have even realized Jon was voicing a character there!
Given how the game turned out to be, according to reviews, that is just one of the many screw ups Playtonic did!

It saddens me that a project that held so much premise turned to be Meh at best.
But then my sorrow vanish everytime I recall what they did to him, marking him like a racist prick in the internet, tainting his image and I say "They deserve it".

Everything that panders to SJW tends to fail commercially, precisely because SJW demands go against what the industry needs/wants.
I'm glad the game isn't full of SJW pandering, and that incident was behind the curtains. But nonetheless, they ended up pandering to that audience that wouldn't even bother with their game in the first place.
Fun fact: Mighty Nº 9 also had issues with SJW, namely the woman hired to moderate the forums or chats the company had made for backers. She ended up convincing the devs to make one of the characters a black woman (in a world full of robots, she's worried about gender and skin color), and her tweets state how much of a misogynistic sexist her boss was.

Just like in the Marvel comics.
They are more worried to insert characters that are either black/asian/gay/lesbian/trans etc than giving them a good personality.
Not even the Avatar franchise (Not the one with the blue aliens) suffered the same fate with forcing a lesbian relationship between Korra and Asami. Heck they even made a comic to pander that pair.

Nickelodeon was so eager to put the breaks on Korassami in the cartoon, but now that it's a comic book, they started pandering to SJWs!
Heck, Sozin banned homossexuality just because, according to that comic!
If you're gonna do LGBT characters, do them right! The manga I'm making has a lesbian and two gay couples.
But instead of glorifying them, I made the gay couples part of a recurring joke, and the lesbian girl struggles with how her sex makes it harder than it should be for her to get the attention of the girl she likes.
And this is the part where "professionals" get sexuality wrong in their stories. Instead of making the sexuality part of the character, they make the character be only that!
Instead of making their struggles with the world and those around be founded on their personalities, they make everyone that likes gay people be the good guys and homofobes be the bad guys!
Insert any variation of LGBT, feminism, immigration, Islamism or pedophilia, and everyone who is against one of those are the evil of society.
There's no grey moral area for them, and there's no character beyond their identity! Heck, there's not even a plot, there's just propaganda!
We dive into comic books and gaming to get away from that propaganda bullshit, but they keep trying to shove their agenda on our hobbies!
Good thing GamerGate taught them we're not just bending over and taking it in like the mainstream media and big corporations! Those SJWs need to learn what "no" means!

I can't believe how much the creator of Avatar has fallen. Instead of working on some other great cartoons he focus on this crap.

It may not even be the creator's fault. Seems like the comics are written and drawn by different teams (though I could be wrong).
It could very well be just executive meddling or removal of efficient personal for the sake of "diversity."
If anything, I'd say Nickelodeon is to blame for this.
I mean, they didn't even release the final season of Korra on TV, barely advertised it, cut down budget for the last season forcing the writers to make a recap episode and put a break on Korrassami.
It's most likely that Nickelodeon saw how well people received the shipping and decided to capitalize on that by hiring shitty writers who would pander to a certain demographic rather than allowing the plot to flow naturally!

ok so I watched the video clip where Milo seemed to defend Pedophilia. Now before anyone jumps on me, I think Milo is a decent guy too. But from a general point of view what he said doesn't look good at all. Things with deeper meanings go over my head. So if I am missing something here please explain it to me.

I don't see that he defends pedophilia at all. He talks about his own experiences when he had 17 yrs and had sex with a 25 yrs old, and makes jokes about it, as he makes jokes of everything. Then he goes to explain the technical difference between pedophilia and ephebofilia, saying that from 13 yrs old to about 15 it's ephebophilia. People have then taken that as if he was saying it's ok to have sex with a 13 yrs old, when he never said that. He just explained the terms.

Nowadays I almost always take the news with a grain of salt, though there are times when I can at the very least tell they're bringing actual evidence.......some of which can be horrifying to say the least in my country.
Still gotta say if you want the truth, look for it yourself......gonna be hard and time-consuming on the internet especially when you see more than a couple of articles linking enjoying fiction to being a monster IRL or something......either that or go look for the truth IRL

*wakes up from being drowsy* that pewdipie thing came out literally after texts of 1 of the people behind maker studio was caught doing something lewd, so the "old" media decided to make fake news by altering something that pewds did weeks before that actually got resolved between himself, the 2 guys involved in the dark humour prank and fiver, which was an organisation that suspended the 2 guys account after said dark humour account, plus this got covered by keemstar, who is the only news dude who is defending him *goes back to sleep*
