What really struck me at first (and maybe this is because I was trying to accomplish the same thing with a piece the other day) is how successfully you brought to life the idea of movement/multiple blurry layers to create one stream of consciousness. The red highlights over the eyes are perhaps key to that effect. The background also reflects that concept, that movement, which really brings it all together as one idea, nice job. The highlights and shading on the lower half of the face look very well thought out and worked on. The upper half doesn't reflect that so much. It feels like it might still need a layer? I also like the sharp side of the face vs the one melting side, especially given the tilt of the face. much realism and emotion behind the impressionism while still maintaining a face entirely inhuman. it's relatably alien.
