Avery actually looks similar to my nuzlocke character with dark skin and white hair ;o;
except that mine is still wearing pyjamas -.-
and yours has color and clean lines ;; //wish i spent my money on painttool sai instead of crappy sketchbook express (which is free by the way ;w; )//

This looks good so far! I like the art style. It's very simplistic and I like the shading technique you used. The clouds in the background are very good looking as well
The premise of the story looks very good, however I feel some of the dialogue is a bit off. Namely, punctuation. I'd recommend a beta reader, or, barring that, go over all the dialogue with a fine tooth comb.
I'll definitely be watching this! Great job, this is very intriguing, and I can't wait to see more
