Description
This started off as a doodle to get the style I'm going for down and then I just kept adding more and more expressions to it. I haven't drawn a character this much since Rem, honestly, and I love this edgy emo punk so much!

Now I have to do this like, ten more times for my other characters lol (kill me)

Personality

Negative traits: Antisocial, Irritable, easily provoked and flustered, distrustful, Sarcastic

Positive traits: Loyal, protective, supportive, passionate, empathetic

Because of his past, Alex is very hostile when first meeting someone, using his anger and distrust as a shield to keep people away.

If someone manages to see past that, however, he starts to let his guard down and show his real personality underneath the anger and hurt.

Likes

- Various types of rock music (emo, punk, Alternative,metal, etc.)

-Writing his own songs and singing them/playing them on his guitar

- Occult related things (mostly due to a friend's influence)

- feminine goth/emo fashion and wearing skirts from time to time

- Anime, manga and comic books

- Any adult or authority figure that he doesn't trust

History

(I'm gonna keep this short because I don't want to spoil too much when I start the comic)

Alex grew up in a toxicly strict religious household that forced him to conform to gender norms. Alex had a tendency to like more feminine things like wearing skirts, doing his hair in cute styles and hanging out with girls more than boys. That's not to say he didn't have male friends, but sometimes he just wanted to play dress up when he wasn't obsessing over Pokemon.

One day, when he was eight, he came home from school wearing pigtails in his hair and his parents lost it, banning him from playing with the girls and forcibly cutting his hair. As Alex got older, he started to hate his parents and older brother who constantly tormented him and called him derogatory names. Around 12 years old, he secretly started hanging out with his old girl friends and wore his hair in pigtails whenever he wasn't at home, so much so they kind of became a part of who he was. Unfortunately, his brother found out and told his parents. Alex was beaten horribly and his father tried to shave his head. Alex fought back, but his brother jumped him and beat on him. Alex managed to kick him off and escaped, running to a friend's house. Once the kid's parents saw the marks on him they called child services. Alex and his brother were taken away the next morning.

For the next three years, Alex was in and out of foster homes and eventually had to be sent to a group home for troubled teens, separated from his brother because they would try to rip each other apart whenever they saw each other.

Eventually, Alex was adopted by a very quirky lesbian couple and that's where the story actually begins.

Other

- Alex wants to be a professional musician/singer/songwriter

- Can play the guitar very well and has a good singing voice, but has terrible stage freight

-Hasn't gone a day without putting his hair in pigtails since he was 12

- Suffers from insomnia and has permanent raccoon eyes

- Is Emo, but can and will kick your ass if you give him shit over his sense of fashion
