Personal comment: It’s been a while since my last post. Lately, I’ve found it difficult to interact on social platforms, considering its current content. The massive flood of AI images has caused me frustration, even anger at times, and, eventually, it resulted in a lack of motivation to publish any of my own work. Why bother, when a tool of artificial intelligence is stealing the one aspect of human life that should be recreational and beautiful - and even ends up getting more traction? Why does AI have to take over art, of all things?
Be it on instagram, facebook or here on deviant art, every second image is AI generated. I am not a full time artist, so my art is a hobby to me, but my passion has suffered greatly. I may not be painting for likes, but it’s no less frustrating to have an online presence when all you see is the hundreds and thousands of likes that AI generated “paintings” get (especially on instagram) - and people don’t even realise it. I've made a point of liking and commenting on real art to try and support these artists, but it's difficult for me to take the time and look through this onslaught of AI images to find a gem in a sea of glass pebbles.
I still continued doing art during my social media absence, but I simply refrained from publishing any. I salute all the artists who have kept strong and continued defending their spot, who have ceaselessly published their art and contributed to the few smiles of mine when getting up the courage to scroll through my favourite art pages. And I want to thank all the people who have continued to commission, share and like real art over AI, contributing to the community and helping us keep faith <3
With these two recent paintings, I start posting again, sharing some of these art works that I've kept to myself until now. Because I do love art, and it is made better by the interaction with other artists and art lovers.
