If you want to get rid of pencil lines, erase some of them using the erasor tool (zoom in close if you have to and make sure you work on a copy of the original drawing so you still have it if mistakes are made). After that you can change how dark the lines are using some of the contrast settings. You can also adjust how accurate the selection wand is, there should be some detail about it next to the menu buttons. The drawing is quite good but a little cleanup on the lines will make things much smoother.

I think I like this one best. It's darker - A dark night of despair, or something. It makes them look lonelier.
