Description

Long time without posting something here so here we go, after trying to extract RE3 models to practice for renders I ended doing a mod for personal use, wanted to recreate Carlos classic outfit from original game, now I have to test it in game, can't share the mod because I used Shirtless Carlos Oliveira mod by Tzarev as base skin/body because that body is just perfect.

Here you can see the mesh without textures

Other place where I posted this is Twitter , I don't post there much either but well.

THIS IS ONLY A PREVIEW

I have to say I did lots of things (from mods to renders) after leaving DA but never posted them, I hope you all are doing fine and stay safe in this weird age .

Tools used:

RETool by FluffyQuack to extract files
3Ds Max
Zbrush

Marmoset Toolbag

Resident Evil game and characters are belong to Capcom.

You are welcome! So far I'm doing well and hoping that things will get better soon for all of us across Europe and the rest of the world.

Any plans to upload some new, cool render or are you concentrating only on modding work lately?

It's really bad here in Spain but we are doing all as we can, I hope all this madness end soon.

I'm trying to put this model in game but I have lot of problems with textures and some weights so I think I'm going to do the render it was planned, RE engine is a pain to mod. I did this model specially for renders and it's going to be a mod for the game, looks like I have some free time now ..

I keep an eye on the numbers from the various countries since this mess began and I'm really sorry to see that Spain has taken quite a beating like my country (IT). We are probably a couple of weeks ahead of you and the situation is slowly improving, so I hope that shortly also your country will see some improvement.

Regarding models, is it just me or did textures get increasingly complicated to work with with newer games compared to e.g. the first two Dragon Age games and the ME trilogy? I've been working with Inquisition models and a little with Andromeda models and their textures always give me a real pain to get right for renders. And hey, that's also great if you can use this model for rendering purposes! Looking forward to seeing the result!

I'm sorry, I know things are really bad there too, we are slightly behind you but it's getting worse every day and people look like they don't care, I simply hope this madness ends soon for everyone.

That's true, for newer games it uses different configuration for the textures to approach realism using tons of textures to reach it, for example some games uses each channel for different textures so it's a pain to work with all those textures and shaders.

I finally managed to put this model in game and everything works fine , it was hard and took time because is the first time I put something into RE Engine and it's a photorealistic engine but managed it! So now with the model that works in game I can extract animations and use them for renders and saving time from posing the character  .

Sadly, things are pretty bad almost everywhere now... While there are some improvements here, my city is still badly affected and you are totally right that a lot of people does not seem to care: it seems that this kind of carelessness is, unfortunately, getting increasingly commonplace. Let's keep doing our best to stay safe and hope for better times!

Congratulations on successfully putting your model in game! If I didn't know it was a mod I wouldn't be able to tell it from the originals that came with RE3. Extracting animations to use in renders some absolutely cool, wish I figured out how to do that for Dragon Age games! Posing models to look good can be a total pain, think I lost count of the times I gave up on a scene for the sole reason that I could not find a way to pose models the way I wanted.

Thank you, oh yes posing the character is a pain and if the model has like a thousand of bones like in newer games then it's a "oh noes" .
