i was thinking up a weapon for one of my characters... and after looking at guan dao/naginata/whatever i got new weird ideas and came up w/ this [after 12 sketches.]
i named it... but the name was made up so yeah.. all you japanese experts who throw hissy fits, STOP. I AM taking japanese too! i was trying to be a little creative. i didnt want to put some common name for this weapon...thing. i wasted 5 hrs on it. i couldve been doing my AP US history hw or my physics lab. so if youre going to piss about the name i gave it, go PISS OFF. i dont want to hear you saying BAN? WHY IS BAN ATTACHED TO THE END OF FUYU? THATS WROONNG. DAME DA DAME DA! [it most likely is...BUT] dont hurt me. i still have an english essay to do ToT ......ill stop ranting.

i drew and colored it on photoshop. since its not something that had to be super proportioned, i had fun playing around w/ the pen tool. the blade probably was the most fun designing. coloring the blade, making it look shiny, et cetera. i changed the ...now superdark blue-of-the-blade part's color several times. it used to be a lighter blue... stayed black for 2 hrs, then dark blue and finally a REAAAAALLY dark blue. almost black i didnt want it to look like zangetsu or anything. i looooved making the cutting edge-part shiny! i overshined it.

the crossguard was an ass pain b/c i hadnt decided on one so i kept changing it. even after i colored it i was changing it. i kept changing its colors too... it went from light blue to white to light blue again to black and then to light blue AGAIN and then to an-attempted-glassy look. attempted. =_=

finishing touches include: amphiptere engravings on pole and sword grip, ivy-like engravings on blade and pole
i didnt sign w/ 'Stepha' b/c i got lazy.

height: [when ensembled] around 7 ft.
height of pole: 4 ft ish
length of entire sword: around 3 ft
weight: pretty heavy....
chain attached from the pommel to the pole. it is [somehow] retractable and allows the sword to lock onto the pole... so you could hit people if theyre standing less than 7ft away [amazing! =O]. and engage them into sword-to-sword combat while wacking/stabbing anyone who tries to interfere w/ the pole.
not for those who:: have no coordination whatsoever, do not have enough muscle[cant bench 50? ], do not like fighting, have no imagination~
