inspired me! Honestly, I think this might be one of my favorite game couples...even more than Tidus and Yuna! Everyone loves Balthier, and I couldn't help but get attached to Fran throughout the game, mostly because she's an archer. Also, getting to walk around as her for the whole game helped! And it's great to see an older, 'established' couple in games for a change. They really have spent their lives together and know each other well...I get attached to that idea since I am engaged!Thanks, Des, for the inspiration. This picture was such a joy to draw. It's refreshing to do fan art now and then! And thanks, Love, for taking such a great shot of my sketchbook!
PS - Yes, I half-made up the armor designs. Who wants to copy the real thing THAT closely... @_@

Hey, really cool picture, especially with Balthier's shirt. Balthier is my favorite character in the game, no contest and you defiantly did him justice! I have to say I am with Desteni on the Balthier getting together with Ashe thing-- partially because they left the ending ambiguous and it is cool to speculate, but also I think a baby with Balthier's facial features and Fran's ears would just be too strange to contemplate!

Now that is just beautiful. Amazing work. The details in XII are quite intricate, its driving every single artist crazy, lol. But workin up your own design, now theres a way to go.

Hehe thank you!! I almost did the designs exactly the way they are in the game, but then I thought if I put that much painstaking detail in it, it would stop being a 'sketch' and I would have to put the same love into shading it....@_@ So I figure this way got me out of that.

Wow this looks so good that when I finally get around to drawing Balthier and Ashe I hope it looks half as good. Glad to inspire you by firmly and happily disagreeing on coupling in this game. Maybe I should just do fan-art of Twilight Princess Link and Zelda to refute the whole Midna thing while I'm at it *giggle* Funny how when given the choice we don't choose the same couples to love for games.
