Magic Class - Winter 2021
>Assignment Two: Tarot Cards or Witch Runes<
Objective: For this assignment you will be expected to design your own set of Tarot Cards or Witch Runes. I will explain what these are below:
Tarot Cards: The Tarot is a deck of 78 cards, each with its own imagery, symbolism and story. The 22 Major Arcana cards represent life's karmic and spiritual lessons, and the 56 Minor Arcana cards reflect the trials and tribulations that we experience on a daily basis. Within the Minor Arcana cards, there are 16 Tarot Court Cards representing 16 different personality characteristics we may choose to express at any given time. The Minor Arcana also includes 40 numbered cards organised into 4 Suits, with 10 cards each, representing various situations that we encounter day-to-day.
Witch Runes: The Witch’s Runes are a set of 13 occult symbols used for divination and magick. These runes are very mysterious and we know little about them. Similar to Tarot Cards however, these are often used as a form of fortune telling.
Assignment completion: This assignment can be completed one of two ways. If you choose to design a Tarot Card, you only need to design a single card of your choosing. If you choose to design your own Witch Runes, you will need to design the whole set (These are very simple designs, and you are welcome to take inspiration from other sources).
