Oz is, upon first impression, a little sweetheart. He’s nearly always seen smiling from ear to ear, with the only intention of helping you out and making you happy. Or at least, make your bad day become at least a little better, within his power of course. Almost seemingly different from his more mellowed-out side that he doesn’t show often, he only tries his best so that you wouldn’t have to stay sad.
Sharp since young age along with his aura sensors, he can see when a situation gets tensed up, becoming serious and direct when necessary. Oz will listen to someone older than him, only if, let’s say that someone passes his vibe check, hah. When something piques his interests and especially when it comes to exploring or looking for something, he will be sure to sniff it out like a curious little thing, wouldn’t stop until he finds it too!
Cheerful and kind as he shows himself, he is much more reserved unless he’s with someone he trusts, so it may come off that he’s shy but it’s not always the case. Oz also hides within himself deep down a certain hatred and paranoia, especially when facing obvious threats that look down directly on him when he would be more aggressive and attempt to fight back, as it has always been a nightmare of his for most of his childhood.

Oz was born just a few minutes later than his twin Rinne, though when they were 2 their parents divorced, him going with his father and Rinne with her mother. A few months afterwards, Levi had to leave Oz on the streets due to him being an alcoholic and fearing he would hurt his son, leaving with the baby only a torn piece of their family photo. Oz was then raised by a couple of homeless people on the streets, realizing at a young age how kind they can be even as they didn’t have a shelter, having to look for food on their own and getting weird looks from people who look down on them and despise them. As kind and adventurous as the child showed himself to be towards the people who raised him, he’s developed a hidden fear and hatred to anyone with higher status, he thought everyone looks at them the same despicable way.
That is, until someone came by when Oz was 9. He saw how this kid was walking alone looking for food, and asked if he got lost. He did not expect Oz to show hostility, though even then he managed to talk with the boy, calming him down, stating that he only wanted to give him a home, a place to stay. Oz couldn’t talk as he was born mute, but could show how he was hesitant at the idea at first, since it would mean he had to leave behind his dear caretakers, the people who raised him and watched him grow for the past 7 years. They happily agreed to let the Riolu go, as then he would be able to find a new home, a new world, only with one condition that he would never forget them.
It took a while to properly tame him, but the person was fascinated at how quickly Oz adapted to the new lifestyle, getting along easily with his brother, father and friend who was also staying in with them, seemingly different from the hostile Riolu he met back in the day. Oz’s mindset has changed throughout the years, not everyone looks down at him or his homeless caretakers that way. He even adapted to dressing up in a more sophisticated style like a little noble, sometimes returning to his caretakers to give them some food or money or clothes, or all of those. Things were getting much better.
Even so, Oz never let go of the memory he was given by Levi all these years... The torn piece of his biological family’s photo. He would still remember them, still hoping one day he would see them again.
Time went by and when Oz was almost 17, there was an albino Absol coming to live in the same household as well. The husband, hmm. Might be a bit girly and mischievous, but the fellow surely meant well, plus he got majestic hair. Oz thought he probably needs more sleep than he should though, heh.
Not long after, Oz heard of Cherrygrove. He figured his adventurous trait would be a bit of good use when it comes to exploring around new places, plus he can maybe make some new friends to overcome his paranoia bit by bit. Not to mention? The Absol also studies there. And so he gave it a shot!
