I'm actually a bit pissed in regards to Neptunia; I lost all the data on my Vita (long story), so I lost all the data on my Neptunia Vita games; PP, Hyperdevotion, the Re;birth games, my Japanese PP (yeah, I have one), Neptunia U, Blanc's game, all that data fuckin' lost. And V2 was fun. I enjoyed it more than Victory, which I wasn't a fan of due to the fact that it made Neptune.....really unlikable.
My favorite of the little sisters is Uni, my favorite Goddess is Noire, and Gear is my second favorite. I agree, she's super adorable, buit people hold the Conquest ending against her. Which sucks; Mk2 is my favorite of the whole Neptunia series.

Omg I'd cry if I lost my HDNoire saves the most (getting THAT plat is a nightmare!) and yea I have the plat on BlancVsZombies, the first 2 rebirths and have yet to play, in detail, PP. Currently on RB3, but haven't had too much time to play lately sadly >_<
As for V2 I do own it (still sealed!) but no PS4 to play it on. And really? I liked Neptune but I hear a lot of people say they didn't like her and Plutia. Maybe you can clear this up for me? (btw my favorite in general has been mk2/RB2 from the main games, HDNoire is my absolute favorite game alltime and still wanna try Neptune vs sega hard girls)

...Conquest is the BEST ending ever in fact I thought Holy Sword in RB2 was a lame attempt to make a "good" version. Conquest made me so sad and felt like it ripped my heart out but that extra touch I felt could have made the series darker with more meaning behind it. Of course I enjoy the moe cutsey aspects the most, but adding darkness to that and making it a "dramedy" was the perfect touch I'd say. That's probably why Victory was over the top silly to appease the fans.

Oh trust me, I was pissed. I haven't replayed them because I don't even wanna look at my PSVita. I lost ALL that data from everything I played. Not happy.
Oh I LOVE Plutia; I think people dislike her due to the to the BDSM themes, but since I like those sorts of things, I am very much of a fan of her and Iris Heart. My issue with Neptune is they essentially magnified her awful traits without focusing on all of her positive ones. She became a genuinely unlikable character in that installment, and I can't stand her. My favorite of the series is Mk2 as well, I've played it the most out of all of them, even more than Re;birth 2, since I don't like some of the changes RB2 made.

I wouldn't call it the best ending EVER but I didn't hate it the way a LOT of the fandom seems to. www.fanfiction.net/s/10324458/… I did a short fanfic based on the Conquest ending, oddly. I don't remember the "Holy Sword", so I think I may have missed that. Things to look for in a replay. I get why you like it, and it was a good ending. I have no issues with it. I just hate how people act like it's the worst thing to happen and constantly blame Gear for it. It's not even "canon", so they need to lay off of her.
My favorite maker is a three-way tie. Cave, Red, and NISA, tbh. Least favorite would be Broccoli, due to her replacing Gust.

Ahh so we're in the same boat more or less. I don't like siding with any particular sexuality (cuz I feel it's like taking sides) I just... like what I like. Mostly traps, but anything goes really. I do really like the confidence of expressing it so openly. That's really cool for sure.

I wouldn't say I love Plutia, but I like her. Definitely no hate though. Oh really the bdsm? Maybe cuz she drills the jokes in too much or something? Hm well I can see what you mean, because Neptune does have good traits too but they just thought having a 4th wall breaking character was all she was meant to be and it's a bit unfortunate. At least as Purple Heart she's still her cool self.
As for MK2 vs RB2, I think MK2 is overall better, but I really didn't care too much for the 3d graphics during the cutscenes. I prefered the Tsunako Illustrations as is the series standard. But I feel much of the text was, albeit in a subtle way, watered down in RB2. For instance, Cave's delivery about Chika "Bullshitting" was perfect, and I felt was pseudo-censored in RB2 in a way that didn't have the same impact. Then ofc I prefer Nisa and Gust over Red (Do like her a lot though) and Broccoli (Shes ok, just not Gust)
Also don't like how in the RB games there's 0 alt outfits for Compa and IF like wth is that about???

Same about the ending. It's ok if people don't like it but I think they reacted -too- strongly in a negative way. I think had the reception not been as horrible, then, dare I say, Neptune wouldn't have become what you disliked. I think the devs did this to her and the game in general to "make amends" with the conquest ending. And I do like victory, for sure, but mk2 is easily the better game overall.
Can pretty much agree with that. Cave is the best, Red is really cool and Nisa was awesome. Broccoli I don't dislike, though I empathize with your reasoning. I think she's meh, just plain and... well, not Gust. But hey, We got Marvy Tekken and CC out of it as well.

Oh fuck, PS3 finally gave out? Fuck all of that noise. And there is a way to back them up, I just made a crucial mistake when making a Japanese acc for a DxD game and lost my data that way. I twas three different levels of stupid, but it happened.
To my knowledge, yeah, people more or less think that they took the BDSM joke too far. Like I said, I enjoy those sorts of things, so to me, its perfectly fantastic. Hell, Iris Heart is my favorite Goddess after Black Heart. I find it funny that Nepgear got that whole "tech-fixation" in Victory. I mean, she made one throwaway comment in Mk2 about window-shopping in Lastation and in Victory, it's suddenly 90% of her character, the other 10% is following after Nep-Nep. It was jarring at first. I'm used to it now, and love it as Gear's quirk, since it makes her unique from everyone else.
It wasn't the fourth-wall busting traits, that's been Nep-Nep's thing from the word go. I just hate that she become truly negligent as a sister and completely self-centered. She wasn't always that way, especially not in the first and second game. She was a genuine hero with a quirky personality, and in Mk2, from what screentime she DID get, was a caring older sister who loved Gear. Victory comes in and basically ruins ALL of that. (And yeah, I'm aware that the Nep in the first game and the Nep in Mk2 and Victory are two different Neps but everyone else's characterisation remained the same).

Oh trust me, I completely agree. I love the use of Tsunako's art for the light-novel like cut-scenes, but 3D figures or not, Mk2 is still my favorite. I don't remember, but I do know that dialogue was adjusted and changed from Mk2 to Re;birth2, so I could see that.
I have a friend who likes Tōhō, though I've never dabbled in it myself.
Hmmm...I'm not sure. I actually never got to finish the first Neptunia, I got about halfway but I gave up. The healing system and level grinding got to me. And Victory, as my least favorite, I've played only on time. Mk2, even if it wasn't my favorite, would win by default, but the Conquest ending is far from my favorite. Besides the Conquest ending, I've only gotten the good ending for Mk2, so that has to be it.
I think you finished that fanfic, so we're good on that. How about my Gear-Uni one?
I don't get how turning Neptune into the WORST character is making amends for anything, unless you mean having her take the piss out of Gear every scene she's in. But then again, the GAME started to do that in Victory, giving Gear "achievements" for bullshit. There's a reason I love Re;birth1 so much. Neptune was restored to normal, personality-wise. One of my favorite moments is when she said she wants to protect everyone around her, and the only reward she wants was to see the smiles on the faces of the people she'd saved...and pudding.
I honestly love a LOT of the makers. I'm fond of the humans and the candidates a lot, moreso than the goddesses sometimes.

Hm... yea you got a genuine point there. Either way, I'd say we're (happily) in the same boat :3. If I'm to state my order of preference from most to least it'd be traps/mtf trans>guys>girls. Not that I've anything against girls, of course, but I prefer making friends with them and hugging and holding hands, but for more intimacy, I'm not as interested, I suppose.
Yea... though my PS3 decided to pinch it out and give me enough time to back up my saves to a USB one last time. I can try to gamble and see if I can pass the crossplay save files (odin Sphere, FFX and I feel I have a few others) to the vita/ps4 (I HAVE A PS4 FINALLY~) Other than that, I'm... fine with retiring that PS3 and trying to replace it.
So is it simple to back up vita save files? I don't do custom firmware or hacking on anything (except my psp).

Ah yea I can see that how it's like "oh it's fine stay behind lols" to nepgear and such. In 2 she had more of this "I'm never leaving you again" kinda deal. When you put it like that, it does make Neptune seem like a flat out jerk. but as I said before, I believe this was all the result of the general dislike of MK2's Conquest ending. I think they tried too hard in some instances to do a 180 and be "SEE ITS MOE AND CUTE AND NOTHING BUT LEVITY LOLS" which I'm also fine with, but I just feel it's a shame that the potential MK2 in general had is more or less out the window because of that.
Yep I prefer mk2 over RB2, though it's marginal since RB2 did add/fix a lot of things, gameplay wise, that I felt wasn't quite refined in MK2. But for story, definitely MK2's text, without a doubt.
As for examples, 2 RB2 vs mk2 that I remember off the top of my head are Cave saying "BSing" instead of "bullshitting" (the later was more out of character which actually resulted in a greater impact and in my opinion showed a closer bond between her and Chika)
The other being Trick who, in story dialogue, never says "nubile young maidens" anymore. I'm aware trick is just... sick, but that's exactly why his main catchphrase was important. It was more disturbing and sick and therefore made you want to take him down that much more.
Ah yea that's cool. It is a bit of wonder why you wouldn't look into it though. 99% female cast, wide variety of characters, tons of official games, mountains of fan games (Many being some of my alltime favorite games), and plenty of written works, some official, some fan made, and of course the hentai has it's own mountain in itself. This is not even to speak of the music which is really amazing. It's just one of those series which I feel has something for everyone if they look hard enough.
...Of course I haven't followed Touhou much lately after Ten Desires so I don't know much about the newer games save for the fighting ones.
First Plat in the Nep series was the original Neptunia, and second plat overall. I can see what you mean about the grind and healing system, but from what I could tell, I feel they had a more "oldschool rpg system" in mind. Just turn based combat stuff. I think that format is good in general, but I felt it was just very unrefined and choppy.
Another thing first nep I felt had potential in is how every character had a "field" ability. Sadly there were only 3 spread across everyone: Break stuff, summon more monsters, and a horrible find the chest ability. I think that had potential though, if they could add more abilities (something along the lines of atelier iris) and that as you get new characters, that also allows you to explore more areas.
And... yea from the main games I could say victory was my least favorite but I did like it. If counting all the games though, Blanc Vs Zombies was on the boring side, and ofc Hyperdevotion noire (not just cuz I love her) was truly my favorite game in the series and I would truly love to see a sequel.
As for endings, Most of MK2's endings were actually good. Conquest was my fave but aside from that, it's really tough. Probably Lastation>Leanbox>Lowee endings. They were all pretty cute, but of course UniXGear just wins for obvious reasons.
Yep I did! I loved it! Really like how you made gear very... Aggressive toward Uni. It was super cute! I mean It's genuinely hard to pinpoint anything I didn't like if any. I mean I do like how you made it seem like, in her own way, Neptune (as a cpu) does in fact do her job (or really Nepgear? lol) and that Planeptune actually impressed Uni. Also the fact that Uni was actually kinda sucky at games in spite of being a beast in actual combat. Gear being in a general position of superiority in terms of games and such was actually nice. I know it's odd, but that scene with the crepes was my favorite. not just because of the obvious advances, but for some reason, it just was so... I say this 1000% in a good way, very girly and feminine. I really could just imagine how their snacks tasted and just like maybe Uni trying to hide her excitement kicking her legs under the table or something.
There is one thing I have to ask though: Is there a NepxNoire date fanfic? It was mentioned that they had already gone on a date before (and how much more disasterious it was lol) and I would truly love if you made one or direct me toward where it may be.
Oh no I agree. Definitely RB1 neptune is the way to go, but they probably see it as "this is the neptune they prefer" or something. And yea I remember that. She was just more of a simple minded airhead who, when it mattered, did her best, but was never an outright jerk. And well ok I have to admit, I did like Gear's achievements lol. I believe turncoat was my favorite, lol.
Yea same. I try to use them as much as possible when I'm doing less serious fights, since sadly, they become outclassed by the goddesses in serious battles, Cave being the one that, in my opinion, gives you the most mileage.
