Description Dryad's Saddle - The large cap is semicircular, Occasionally circular. Its flat topped or depressed near the lateral or off centered stem. The upper side is tan yellow with concentric bands of dark brown, flat scales. The Underside has large angular creamy yellow pores. The tubes run on to the thick stem which has a dark brown, velvet base.

Size Cap to 50cm x x 5cm Thick, stem 3-10 cm x 1-6cm

Habitat overlapping clusters on broad leaved trees including elm, birch, beech and sycamore.

Season Spring to summer. Not persisting.

Edible Edges of young caps are the most tender.
