Without the hat, he turns into a walrus. I've only seen him with the hat off maybe twice in all the episoses I've seen. He looks even more intensely walrussy without the beret!

XD That was my first thought when first seeing that show. I think I honestly called him a walrus before I learned his name, too. That or "Walrus-man"(sounds like the name of a rejected super hero...)
